Awkward And Awesome Thursday

As always, inspired by Sydney over at The Daybook

Awkward:
  • Husband and I have decided to participate in our first neighborhood garage sale ever.  We have absolutely no idea what we are doing.  Anyone have any tips to share with a first timer?  The idea just makes me nervous.
  • Getting a facial done in a very quiet room, while my stomach won't stop growling....for an hour straight.  I finally gave up on apologizing (and boy, was I embarrassed).
  • Harriet escaped once again, and I had to go chasing her through the neighborhood.  I thought husband and I were smarter than this, but apparently not.
  • Overheard at Home Depot (by lady looking at fruit trees), "Now a lemon, is that the same thing as a lime or is that something different?"  The store clerk she was speaking to looked dumbfounded.
  • On Sunday, I had to say good-bye to my perfectly worn in weekend jeans (Dec 2004-Apr 2011). They will be sorely missed, and difficult to replace :( I knew that one day they would get a hole in a place that would make it impossible for us to carry on. I will always remember the good times we had together.
Awesome:
  • This webcam that shows a live feed of two bald eagles and their babies.  Two of the three eggs have already hatched, and you can watch the whole thing go down live.
  • Tina Fey's new book is out, and I can wait to read it.  I love her.
  • Going to PF Changs with some friends and ordering one of each of the dessert shots to split.  Perfectly sized and I got to try them all.  If you've been there, you know what I mean.
  • The challenges on Survivor.  What kind of genius comes up with this stuff?  Standing on a round log while holding a disk with 3 balls on it and not dropping any of the balls?  Wow.
  • The cream-filled Hobnobs I received in this package.  My new favorite cookie biscuit.

I couldn't stop laughing at the Home Depot story. I over heard something simliar the other day. I was in Publix and there was a gentleman flirting with the cashier. She was telling him that she was going to take a 12 week class and it was going to cost $450. He proceeded to tell her that she should look into switching to a 3 month course because she would get more for her money. Silly.

That's so cool! I can't stop watching the eagle hoping something will happen!

I am way to familiar with the growling stomach in a quiet room. It seems that whenever it's quiet, my stomach will growl.

Hi, I'm Erin. I am living back on the east coast after 15 years out west. Currently readjusting to humidity and mosquitos. I love to take pictures and read fashion magazines.... and to talk about nothing in particular (ok, and my dogs).
