Nemesis Part 2: The Nighttime Nemesis

A while back, I told you about a certain nemesis that has been tormenting the dogs and me for a while now.  Well, he hasn't given up.  In fact, he has grown braver. He jumps right onto the feeder and swings in the wind.  The local bird population is not amused.

There is a giant old oak tree in my backyard.  When we chase the squirrel away, he jumps onto the tree and escapes the wrath of my three pups.  OK, my two pups (because Petunia could actually not care less).  And now there is a new nemesis in town.  This one only comes out at night and sits in the giant oak, staring down at us from above (and I suspect he is doing it on purpose).

I wasn't actually aware of his presence at first.  However, Meatball and Harriet (again, Tuna was not really interested) would sit and wait for the opossum to come out of his den (which seemed to be the attic of my neighbor's house) on a nightly basis.  They would stare as dusk fell, silently waiting.  And then I would hear the barking.  I had to find out what all the commotion was about. So first I got myself a flashlight.  And then I grabbed my camera.  This is what I saw.

Lastly, please don't forget about my giveaway.  Get all of the details here.  Entering is easy-peasy-lemon squeazy.  All you have to do is follow.  I look forward to hearing from you!

We have a little cheeky squirrel that opens our garden gate! I have tried to catch him doing it on camera but he is too quick! I have never seen an Opossum before, he is a cutie!

Your house is becoming a zoo! : ) I once had this stupid opossum that lived in my trees (and made my dogs go nuts). I started enjoying his presence more when i pretend he had a top hat and cain and danced around at night. It made me laugh instead of seethe with anger. And heck yes pumpkin spice lattes are back! My favorite time of year.

Those darn squirrels.. my dog goes crazy over them too, sometimes. Sometimes he chooses to ignore them, haha. Lazyness I guess. Is that last thing you got a picture of an opossum? It is actually pretty cute!

There is an epidemic of squirrel fearlessness in backyards across America.

Call me nuts but i think it's lovely they come to visit.
I also think its sad because they are most likely lacking food in their natural habitat.
I have been trying to get parakeets to come to my balcony and they ignore me and my seeds.

Hehe, our backyard visitor is a 400 pound bear. He comes out every nights, eats the neighbors trash. Its kinda fun to watch him rule the neighborhood. That is until he sits behind my car and makes me late for work.lol

You got really good pictures of it... If it's really bothering you, I'd recommend pest control.

Oh my goodness this is too cute. My kitty and I were enjoying coffee on the porch the other day, well I was enjoying coffee and kitty was enjoying the sunshine, when suddenly a squirrel appeared out of nowhere that was seriously almost as big as kitty!! It was hilarious watching her reaction... intrigue and fear all at the same time.
