Answers to Your Burning Questions (and a Blog Award)

First off, I wanted to remind everyone that the SF Blogger meet-up is happening this Saturday.  If you live in the area, we would love to have you.  Please RSVP via the link on the upper left hand side of my blog.

Trice over at High Heels and Good Meals gave me this award back in October (which I can officially say, at the beginning of November). Thank you!  If you haven't ever visited her blog, I strongly encourage you to stop by and take a peek.  She has a fantastic sense of style and she knows her food!  I get hungry just thinking about  it.  Plus, I noticed that she has exactly 199 followers.  Maybe you can help get her to 200?

Passing this award on to:
Elisa of Globetrotting in Heels
Eleanor of Mirror of my World
Aki! of 7% Solution
(check them out too, if you are looking for some good reads)

RULES:

1.) Link back to the person who passed you the award
2.) Complete the form below
3.) Award 10 3 blogs and drop them a note to let them know about it
4.) Share 7 random things about yourself  Answer reader questions

FORM

1.) Name your favorite song?  The Sundays cover of Wild Horses
2.) Name your favorite dessert?  If there is a
soufflé  on any menu, I will order it (much to my husbands dismay, because they take so long to make).  Also, when I am in South Florida (which is where I am from) the Tollhouse Pie at Beverly Hills Cafe.  One day I will get my hands on the recipe.
3.) What pisses you off? People that don't use turn signals.  Flaky people.
4.) When you're upset you? Like to shop...and sometimes to vent.
5.) What is your favorite pet?  Dogs (probably obvious if you come here often)
6.) Black or White?  Yes (look to the cookie).
7.) Your biggest fear? Not seizing all of life's opportunities, and living my life to the fullest.  Also, black widows.
8.) Best Feature?  Hmmm...I have dimples in both cheeks (and people seem to notice them).
9.) Everyday Attitude? I am generally a happy person.  People use the term "bubbly" a lot to describe me.
10.) What is perfection? A rainy evening in the fall, spent at home with my husband and dogs, a fire, a movie, and lots of good food (and ok, maybe a little internet shopping).
11.) Guilty Pleasure? Nutella and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

A few weeks ago, I asked you to ask me anything.  You guys gave me some fantastic questions that I have yet to answer.  There is no time like the present, no?

Where is your favourite holiday destination, and where would you most like to travel to if you could? My favorite holiday destination is definitely the Big Island of Hawaii.  I would go several times a year if I could.  The places I most want to travel right now are 1) The UK and 2) BoraBora

What's your favourite comfort food?  I love mashed potatoes and gravy.  I can't think of anything I love more.  Homemade soup is a close second.

How did you decide that you wanted to get a pug?  The summer before I went away to college I started working in a puppy store.  It was the most fun job I have ever had, plus, I got stop spend a lot of time playing with puppies.  It was love at first snuggle.  Pugs have the funniest little personalities.

What's the best memory you have?  My wedding day was definitely one of the best days of my life.

If you could have any super power what would it be?  I would love to be able to speak any and every language. (even to communicate with animals) while being invincible.

Would you rather never again be able to drive yourself anywhere or always have to drive 5 miles under the speed limit?  Oh boy....this is so hard.  Assuming that I would have someone to drive me around at a normal speed, I would choose that.

What is your favorite dessert?  See form above.

So what I wanna know is... if you had to choose a fruit to represent you, what fruit would you choose and why?  A mango, no real intellectual reason here (although I did spend about 5 minutes trying to come up with one).  It is my favorite fruit.

Also, if you were stuck on a desert island, what three books would you want with you?   I am not a person that rereads books, so this is not easy to answer.  I guess I would have to go with the practical, and bring 3 desert island survival guides with me.  Or maybe 2 survival guides and Are You There Vodka, Its Me Chelsea by Chelsea Handler.  I loved that book.  It is funny stuff.

Which countries have you visited, and where do you plan to go next?  I am embarrassed to admit that I have not been many places (at least, as many as I thought I would have visited at this point in my life).  I have been all over the US, and to Mexico, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and St. Maarten.  I hope my next international vacation will be to the UK.  Aside from being a bit of an Anglophile, I owe a dear friend a visit.

When you were little, what did you want to grow up to be?  First a fairy princess, then a ballernia, then a jockey, and then a vet.

My question is, besides Erin (the best name ever), if you had to rename yourself, what would your name be?   LOL, when I was a kid I wanted to change my name to Stacy Alicia, because I thought it was the most glamorous name ever.  Now, I kind of like Erin.  It grew on me.

Uhhh my random question: what is your favorite ice cream flavor.  Cookies and cream.  Oreos were meant for ice cream.

What is your most embarrassing moment?   So many of them!  OK, here is my most recent adventure in public humiliation.  I was sitting in a conference room at work, waiting for a meeting to start.  The room was full of important people (read: executives).  There were probably 25 people in the room.  I put my laptop down, and twist open a bottle of sparkling water, and kablam!  The bottle explodes all over me, my iPhone, my notebook, my laptop, and people in my immediate vicinity.  I looked like I was the sole contestant in a wet t-shirt contest.  And almost nobody got up to help.  Then there was a small earthquake.  All signs pointed to go home.

Are you still?  Did you really read all of this?  Are you staring at the monitor cross-eyed at this point?

I've always wanted to work at a puppy store and I always wanted dimples! My first dog was a pug named Muffy--I've wanted another one ever since, but it's so hot here in SA it's mean to keep them here!

1. Your embarrassing moment totally sounds like something I would do.

2. Yeah Nutella and RHOBH! Eating Nutella while watching RHOBH is even better.

Congratulations on your award Erin! I loved reading all your answers to the questions. I'm with you - Hawaii is one of my favourite places. And your super power idea is really cool. Your biggest fear is similar to mine .-)!

Hugs and kisses!
