It is finally starting to feel more autumn-like in the Bay Area. For me, that means its officially homemade soup season. I really think it is kind of a perfect meal. It warms you up inside when it is chilly outside, and it is full of veggies and the good part of the chicken (I have chicken issues, but I will burden you with them another day). The couple of hours it takes to make this delightful meal reminds me of (and smells a lot like) my childhood. Plus, you can freeze all of the extra for sick days and rainy nights and any other excuse you need for a little taste of (grand)ma. This is probably my favorite mazto ball soup recipe OF EVER. If you are a fan, you have to try it (and if you try it, you have to let me know what you think).
I mentioned a while ago that I like to keep little diary entries in my cookbooks.

What is a Matzo ball? I've heard of it, but I can't put my finger on it.
I think we call matzo ball's dumplings which are essential in any stew!
