So I'm Not the Only One? (Or, How Much Fun Was My First Blogger Meet-up)

This weekend, I had the privilege of attending my first blogger meet-up.  The lovely Ana of My (Newly)Wed Life (pictured bottom left) was nice enough to plan this little get together with myself (pictured top left), Stephanie from Big Mario Life (pictured top right) and Vivian (bottom right).  It was so great to get together and share stories.  Ana made us all the cutest little packages with her fresh baked sugar cookies to take home (and they were fantastic).  Thanks again, Ana, for planning such a fun afternoon.

Here are some fun facts from the meet-up:

1) I cannot parallel park to save my life (I believe I have addressed that sufficiently,  here).  This means that all trips where I drive to the into the city require a parking garage.  I did get to the city on time for the meet-up, but then drove around for 35 minutes looking for said parking garage.

2) If you are ever driving around the city in need of a parking garage, just ask Siri where the nearest one is.  She will point out the closest 15, and then ask you to pick one so she can give you directions.  Well done, Steve Jobs.

3) Once I was already running 35 minutes late, I had the great fortune of then literally running multiple blocks in the exact opposite direction of the restaurant I was trying to get to.  Once again, I did not realize this until I used the map on my iPhone to find out that the little blue ball that is me was moving farther and farther away from Fillmore Street.  By about this point I am really wishing I had on a pair of Nike's (and the last 45 minutes back).

4) By the time I arrived at Paxti's Chicago Pizza, I am slightly sweaty, a bit disheveled, and completely embarrassed to be arriving so late.  Thankfully, I was about to sit down with 3 of the warmest and nicest girls, ever.

5) Two hours just flies by when you are having fun.  There was not one awkward pause.  Not even really a moment of silence (even when we were stuffing ourselves with pizza).  We almost forgot to take pictures.

6) When bloggers get together and share stories, you learn a lot.   The most valuable thing for me was that all of the good, not good, and odd things I have experienced in the blogging world had also been experienced by everyone else.  It was kind of a relief.

7) Unfortunately, the parking garage I found only had metered parking (you know, the kind where 25 cents buys you approximately 30 seconds on the clock). It only took two hours worth of quarters, so we had to cut the afternoon a bit short.  It was a pity because there was an Urban Outfitters right next door that I was dying to check out.  You win this time, meter maids of San Francisco.

8) Before we departed, we made tentative plans to do this again soon.  If you are in the Bay Area, we hope to see you there next time.  I know I can't wait!

9) One last thing. I never knew that I needed to make an email address available on my blogger profile so you could respond to my comments on your blogs via email. I learned this at the meet-up, and since I have added it many of you have started emailing me. Wow, I wish I would have learned that trick sooner:). You really do learn something new every day in the blogging world.

Aw, this sounds like so much fun -- and certainly educational, haha. I can't parallel park to save my life if it helps.

That sounds like a great night Erin. I can't park either. I once had to get out of my own car and leave a complete stranger park mine, oh and the postman also helped me steer it out of a tight spot too ! Your photographs are lovely.
