OK, I promise you, this is my last birthday post. I confess that I really love receiving birthday cards (but I am thinking, who doesn't?). Honestly, I love receiving anything from the mail that isn't a bill. Luckily for us mail birthday card lovers, April over at Marine Parents started the Love & Envelopes Birthday Club. I joined back in June and have had a lot of fun with it.
Here is how it works. April sends out an email at the end of each month with your birthday girl's information (including blog, twitter name, and address). You send her a birthday card. When your birthday comes around, instant mailbox full of cards. It is a great way to introduce new readers to your blog, twitter feed, Etsy shop, etc. Also, it is a great way to spread a little cheer around the blogosphere and make new friends. I loved receiving each one of my cards, and have just now realized that I may be the only member who doesn't have her own blog business card. Do you guys all have blog business cards? I feel like the last one to know here.
Note: This is a mixture of L&EBC cards and cards from friends and family. |
I would love to thank the following bloggers for their thoughtful, funny, and much appreciated cards:
Jenn from Brynn's Beautiful Bows
Julianne from Made By Jewls
April from Marine Parents
Becky from Life or Something Like It (Sorry, I wasn't find your blog. If you read this, please leave a link).
The lovely author of Saving With Save One (she didn't sign her name)
I also wanted to wish a happy birthday to April (creator of the club). I am happy to share the month with her:) If you are interested in joining the next time it opens up, you can contact her here. The more people that join, the more cards you will receive on your big day. If you like to spread joy to complete strangers, this is the place for you.

Such a sweet idea! I am tempted to join but the postal service from Ireland is notoriously bad...
I just got cards made up from www.MOO.com, to give out at events mostly.

That's such a great idea!!! Now I want to join. I love connecting on a personal level with other bloggers.
And no, I don't have a business car for my blog. Am I supposed to? Sigh... lol
I really do love birthday cards. I don't get as many as I used to because of Facebook and Twitter, and I miss them. As much as I love social networking, I don't think that a message over such equals the sentiment of a birthday card in the mail.

What a fabulous idea! I also don't have blog business cards as of yet, though I do have personal business cards with my name, phone number and email, which I love giving out.
What a fun idea! Receiving real mail is the best. I really need to get better about sending cards to people I already know.
