One Day

It took me two months to read this book.  I really wanted to like it.  Then nothing happened. The premise of the book is this:  Emma and Dexter hook up on the night of their college graduation, July 15, 1988.  We then take a peek into their lives on July 15th of each following year, all the way through 2006.  Their lives are mundane.  I kept waiting for something to happen, and even when it did I was only happy because it meant the book was almost over.

I would give this book 1.5 stars.  It wasn't the worst thing I have ever read, but I just couldn't find myself investing in the characters.  Of course, immediately following the end of this book, I had to see the movie.  It was definitely better than the book, for what that is worth.  If you are still interested, I would definitely go the movie route.

Next up, Let's Pretend This Never Happened, by Jenny Lawson.  If you are not familiar with her, she is The Bloggess, and one of the funniest writers out there.  I encourage you to check out her blog.  Start with Wil Wheaton Collating Papers.  Let me know what you think.

Oh my. If the movie was better than the book, then it's not a good sign!

Hi, I'm Erin. I am living back on the east coast after 15 years out west. Currently readjusting to humidity and mosquitos. I love to take pictures and read fashion magazines.... and to talk about nothing in particular (ok, and my dogs).
