Things To See In San Francisco: Landmarks By Water

When the lights go down in the city,
and the sun shines on the bay,
do I want to be there,
in my city,
ohoh ohohoh ohoh
- Journey

More pictures from my Fourth of July boat trip.

If I had a sailboat, I would totally have a Jolly Roger flag.  I heart pirates.
Patriotic scaffolding on the 4th.

Sutro Tower with the fog rolling in.

I would love to rent one of these amazing houseboats in Alameda, as seen from the Oakland Estuary.  I love the colors.

Fact:  The Port of Oakland is the 5th busiest container port in the United States.

The USS Potomac was Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidential yacht.  It is now available for charter and tours.  I really want to visit.

We stumbled upon the Millennium Falcon.   Now you are jealous!

Cranes at the Port of Oakland.

The Yerba Buena Lighthouse, built is 1875.

Alcatraz, with the fog rolling in.

The Transamerica Pyramid.

Coit Tower.
Chillingly patriotic.

The tops of the Ferry Building and the Transamerica Pyramid peeking out through the cityscape.

The Raygun Gothic Rocketship (an art installation on The Embarcadero).

The Ferry Building from the water.  A post on the inside of the building is coming soon.

Cupid's Span (On The Embarcadero): Inspired by San Francisco's reputation as the home port of Eros (Cupid).

A view of the Transamerica Pyramid, Ferry Building, and Coit Tower from the Bay.

AT&T Park from McCovey Cove (home of the San Francisco Giants).  There have been 61 splash hits in the cove since the park opened in 2000, 35 of them by Barry Bonds.
If you visit San Francisco, these are all landmarks worth seeing.

A boat cruise sounds like a perfect way to spend the 4th and it looks like it's also a great way to see San Francisco. I did a boat cruise around NYC last year and it really provided a fresh perspective on the city.

Happy weekend erin!

Hi, I'm Erin. I am living back on the east coast after 15 years out west. Currently readjusting to humidity and mosquitos. I love to take pictures and read fashion magazines.... and to talk about nothing in particular (ok, and my dogs).
