The Hike Where I Spotted A Blurry Coyote

I blogged a few weeks ago about our hiking hobby.  Husband and I have been having a lot of fun exploring the open spaces around the Bay Area.  Every time we go, I am compelled to stop and take a bunch of pictures.  One day I would love to bring my DSLR to capture what my phone can't.  For now, the idea of carrying a backpack in 100 degree heat is just dreadful.

Looking down over the valley.

Husband gets way ahead of me when I keep stopping to take pictures.

A view of Mt. Diablo.

The other side of the mountain.

Another attempt at a self-portrait.

There are some flatlands between the hills, and they are covered with holes that ground squirrels live in.  You can see them popping up everywhere.

There is also the occasional bunny.

Much to my delight, on this trip we found a coyote.  It ran away before we got close, but the petting zoo loving child inside of me was excited just to catch a glimpse.
This has been a beautiful way to spend our evenings.

That's a gorgeous path. I wouldn't mind exercising outside if that's what I had to contend with

Looks like a really pretty place to hike! Neat that you saw a coyote.

I laughed at your picture of your husband so far ahead of you ... I have a series of such shots too! I love him even more when I look at the pictures of him waiting for me so patiently wayyy up ahead! Or how I often see him turn around from far ahead to make sure I'm still with him. But yesterday we went for a walk and he just didn't wait. Lol. He knew that I knew where we were going and would catch up eventually, even if I had to jog to do so!

I'm definitely trying to take advantage of the outdoors right now since the weather is so nice.

Fabulous scenery and great pics Erin - though I would have been terrified of the coyote! xo

Hiking Trips are so fun. Unfortunately here in Tx we've been having weather in the 100's which just makes any outdoor activity unbearable. Gorgeous pictures :)

Hi, I'm Erin. I am living back on the east coast after 15 years out west. Currently readjusting to humidity and mosquitos. I love to take pictures and read fashion magazines.... and to talk about nothing in particular (ok, and my dogs).
